Directions'07 (Celebrating Success)

Last week (14th & 15th Sep'06) saw the entire HCL huddling together once again to celebrate the achievements of the last year and the plans for the road ahead under the platform of DIRECTIONS'07.

This forum attended by thousand of Managers across the HCL fold, saw each line of Business presenting its report card to the employees and sharing its Vision for the coming year. The event took stock of the transformational journey in 4 critical areas - employee experience, customer experience, operating excellence, and business differentiators, along with sharing the Vision 2010.

Have you ever been asked how many outdoor activities you had the pleasure of personally experiencing? Well, if I was to ask you right now, what would your answer be? If you were still a kid you would begin by describing each one of them and you would probably try to classify them according to the different categories you would have in mind, like group or individual outdoor activities, sports or leisure time joys, etc. Contemporary individuals, rarely state their favorite outdoor activities and very frequently human resource professionals discover that the "Interests" section in personal resumes is excluded or is rather confined.

This usually happens because many working individuals consider it to be rather unprofessional for someone to participate in a variety of outdoor activities! Don't frown, you know what I mean. Having time to do a variety of non-work-related activities is a sign that you have a lot of free time! That consequently means that either you do not take your current job seriously-which might seem extremely negative for a prospective employer-or that you do not sleep enough to maintain or even improve your energy and efficiency levels and be able to perform your daily duties. This, in my opinion, is ridiculous!

Identify Yourself

If I ask you a simple question "Please identify yourself" - you will come out with the answers like I'm xyz or if you are a professional you will probably say 'I'm a doctor - I'm a manager - I'm A Vice President'

Now the above listed answers tells about your biological and physical identity - this is not your true identity. Look at the examples of Mahatma Gandhi, non-violence, peace, conflict resolution, truthfulness, theses were the qualities of that man, so you identify him with these qualities, not by his profession (lawyer).
There are so many live examples of great people who moved the nations using their powerful identity with great impact.

So guys identify yourself - how you want to live as in your life....

Eventful Weekend

What an eventful weekend this was...Sea water is turning sweet at Mahim creek...Hindu idols are drinking milk again after a break of a decade...Pakistan registers a protest against ball tampering allegation at Brit Oval...Series between India & Sri Lanka has been called off due to bad weather...

Well you guessed it right...Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.....CONCLUSION BELOW:

INDIA - Indian culture wont accept this...after 1st weeks collection movie is saying alvida from the BOX OFFICE..

US & UK - Biggest ever first week collection in US & UK...will be a big hit...already has ;-)

DHARMA PRODUCTION - Producers made the profit in the first week's collection itself...don't have to worry about the film..whether it's a HIT or FLOP.

PERSONALLY - I didn't like the movie......SUPER FLOP FROM MY SIDE.

Movie Review

Well well well....after a long time saw a good comedy in "Golmaal", Ajay devgan and all the other actors did a good job. First time Tushaar Kapur did some good acting...well even the director of this movie thinks that its better to keep him quite...no dialogues...ooo aah ayeo...then he can act only :-)

Weekend Planning - well in todays planning I have bollywood Movie "Golmaal" in my list. Sounds like a pass time movie to me, anyways lets try my luck with one more bollywood movie - fingers crossed :-)

Your system may be at risk - "not genuine"

Well today a strange thing happened with my laptop, i just finised with the Windows update and restarted my Laptop as usual, but then on the logon screen it prompted that your Copy of windows is not genuine, "Validate Now" or "Continue". I didn't even know that copy of my Windows XP was not genuine. Anyways got sorted out by "Buying Genuine copy" of windows from Microsoft.

Job well done "Microsoft" - one more step to prevent piracy.

Inspiration

Well in everyone's life at one stage - we do get some kind of INSPIRATION. Inspiration can impact a person's life very heavily or may be not at all - depends person to person. Now what kind of inspiration a person needs, how he grasps it and how he evalautes - also dependent on person's nature or behaviour.

Like today i got an inspiration from one of my best friend (don't want to share his name - but he's special) to iniate the blog writing and sharing some of my life experiences, thoughts, events.... which are occuring every day, every hour and every second in my life (need to choose some special ones though).
